With its stunning architecture and distinct blue rooftops steeped with the color of the surrounding sea, Santorini may very well have been plucked from the Greek mythos to stand here as a city out of time. In a place so distinct that many could identify it from an image of a street corner, I wanted to capture an image that would pull even natives of the island into a second glance – a view that was familiar, yet not often seen.
Made with oil and chalk painting techniques, this piece is an ode to its quiet grandeur, where you feel the inspiration that sparked countless stories of gods and goddesses which even now continue to feel larger than life. Whether you’re looking out at the sea or up into the endless sky, you’ll be pulled into the magic of Santorini Blue.
