A testament to the power of natural elements and time, the Sinai Canyon is one of the most gorgeous and intimidating formations on Earth. Eons ago, the red sea receded from the surrounding peninsula, eroding grooves sixteen stories tall and leaving us with what we see today. Against the backdrop of clear blue skies, earthy layers of limestone and sandstone twist and turn in passages our ancestors walked long before we could.
With its rich religious and cultural history, like many other places in Egypt, it holds a mystique that makes the wind sound like whispers from the past. The day I hiked through this place, every change in the angle of the sun brought different colors to the mountain range, sparking the inspiration for this ink and oil Mystical Mt. Sinai Magic.
