FORGOTTEN AT THE BAYOU – ART PRINT
Even now, decades after wilderness lover Armand Yramategui was laid to rest, the beautiful bayou named in his memory sits as an enchanted preserve in the Texan wilderness. Steeped in the magic of nature, it’s not hard to imagine the flash of something otherworldly in the corner of your eye, though it may very well be one of the many creatures living there that jumped from the pages of fairytale stories I read as a child.
Taken during a memorable visit, the photograph beneath this ink and oil creation is a snapshot of a frog sitting quietly on a branch, barely obscured by the surrounding flora, waiting. Could it be for his next meal, or, a younger me thinks, could it be for his princess? Perhaps he’ll decide not to wait, and find his own happy ending. Perhaps he’ll take charge, instead of remaining Forgotten at the Bayou.
